Milford Police say they responded to the area of Anderson Avenue near Ashwood Road on the report of a breach of peace incident on Sunday, June 9 around 4 a.m.

Further investigation revealed that a man, identified as Collin Webster, 31, of Shelton, drove by an Ashwood Road home and swore at the residents while driving erratically, according to police.

When attempting to place Webster under arrest, police say he became “extremely uncooperative” and struck an officer in the face with a closed fist during processing. He also attempted to spit on emergency responders, police say.

Webster was eventually taken successfully into custody, processed and charged with the following:

  • Second-degree breach of peace
  • Interfering with an officer
  • Assault on a police officer
  • Attempted assault on emergency personnel

Webster was held on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, June 10.
